Friends of Strand Schools is our Parent Teacher Association (PTA), of which all parents and carers are automatically members.  Friends is a registered charity and consists of a group of dedicated volunteer Strand parents who work alongside the staff of both the Infant and Junior schools to organise community events and raise much needed extra funds for the schools.  Every penny raised goes directly to the schools to enrich and enhance the children’s school experience.

Over the years Friends has raised funds for many additional items including a class set of Chromebooks, a new climbing frame in the playground, redevelopment of outdoor areas, floodlights, sports equipment, outdoor equipment and renovations to areas of the schools.  

The main annual events are:

Bingo & Curry Night (January)

Panto (March)

Summer Fair (June)

Other fundraising initiatives run throughout the year for example, the Wish List launched in January 2024 to support the exciting redevelopment of the field.

In order for the events and fundraising to be as successful as possible Friends needs as much help as possible from parents/carers, so if you are interested in helping out whether it be putting up posters, selling tickets, sourcing raffle/auction prizes, helping out at an event or offering fundraising ideas or expertise, Friends  would love to hear from you.  Your support means the world to us and our schools and we cannot do it without you all!
