- Forest School
Forest school is an inspirational learning program where our pupils develop socially, emotionally, spiritually, physically, and intellectually.
The roots of Forest School reach back to the open air culture ‘friluftsliv’, or free air life, seen as a way of life in Scandinavia where Forest school began. Led by our trained practitioners, children follow a progressive program of learning in a natural setting from Nursery to Year 1,
The session is always partly child led to encourage curiosity, exploration, creativity and decision making skills.
Through regular visits to our forest area children are able to develop independence, improve language and raise
their self-esteem through small achievable tasks in a woodland setting.
Children wear waterproof clothes and wellies (provided by the school) so that they can access outdoor learning
in every weather.
